Meet the Endodontists

Dr. Ben Williams with his family

Ben Williams, DDS

Dr. Williams attended Daniels Middle and Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC and is very excited to be back in the area where he grew up. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and competed as a high jumper while an undergraduate student. He attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (’04) and after graduation went to work as a staff dentist in the Indian Health Service (IHS). Dr. Williams spent four years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan working for the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians where he found a desire to go back to school to specialize. Dr. Williams did his specialty training in endodontics at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, graduating in 2010. He spent four years working in the Nashville area as a full time endodontist in private practice before starting the practice in Raleigh in 2014.

Dr. Williams cares about all of his patients and strives to give the highest level of care possible. He values every patient and is always willing to take extra time to explain procedures and answer questions. He is dedicated to quality endodontics and has invested in the most advanced equipment, performing all procedures through the operating microscope. He is a board certified endodontist having achieved the honor of Diplomate of the Board of Endodontics in 2014.

Dr. Williams and his wife, Kiersten, have three children. When Dr. Williams is not in the office, he may be found working on projects in the garage, or rock climbing either indoors or outdoors with his family.

James Phillips, DMD

Dr. Phillips brings a unique blend of leadership, dedication, and advanced expertise to our practice. His journey began at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, where he earned his degree in Business Administration while attending on an Army ROTC scholarship. Upon graduation, he commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer, later transitioning to Military Intelligence. After nearly six years of dedicated military service and multiple deployments, Dr. Phillips followed a new calling into healthcare.

He earned his dental degree from the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Phillips then returned to the Army, serving as a general dentist before completing his specialized, advanced training in endodontics right here at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His career next took him to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, where he served as a clinical endodontist, before he ultimately returned to Fort Bragg as the Program Director of the US Army Advanced Education Program in Endodontics to mentor and teach the next generation of dental residents.

Highly dedicated to his field, Dr. Phillips is a Board-Certified Endodontist, achieving the prestigious Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics in 2020.
